In this week’s podcast, “Is what it means to be human about to change?” I have a little fun speculating about the role lifelike machines may play in the future. There is, however, a serious undercurrent. The Internet round of technology unquestionably reduced human interaction. Will the next round separate us from each other even more? Or will lifelike machines take over unpleasant aspects of human interactions, such as being recipients of man’s darkest sexual and physical rage and anger?
